The month of March every year in the U.S. is Women’s History Month, with March 8 being International Women’s Day. Women’s Day was first celebrated in 1911 when campaigns and sentiment against World War I (WWI) inspired women in Europe to rally around equality and recognize the achievements of women around the world. Today we celebrate female empowerment and the social, political, cultural, and economic achievements of women worldwide on Women’s Day. Some ways to celebrate include learning about women’s history, specifically about voting rights, supporting women-owned businesses (like Craft Montaz!), learning about and paying tribute to female trailblazers and leaders, and donating to organizations that support women and girls.
